Final Version Selected Playful Revision

Requirements for a passing grade:

• The asssignment is to revise your working draft into a one-page paragraph (It must be between 300-350 words).
  

• The final version must be free of formatting, grammar or punctuation errors. (You may continue to revise this paragraph until the last week of the quarter.)

•  Must be submitted by e-mail attachment to schultzmary@deanza.edu.
  

1. Pick a focus for your paragraph. I have suggested a possible focus for you, but you are not obligated accept my suggestion.
   

   • Note that you may have 99% of your paragraph already written. 

   • Note that you may need to add some detail to your second working draft.

   • Note that you may need to cut significant portions of your working draft

   • DO NOT ADD NEW IDEAS: Add only detailed information and explanation of one idea that you already have, and that you have chosen as your focus.)

2. Write or revise a topic sentence for your paragraph. (See pp. 24-27 of your Writing Skills Handbook.)
   

3. Revise to make sure that you have included sufficient, detailed information (See p. 26 of your Writing Skills Handbook.)

4. Revise your paragraph into a organizational pattern that makes sense to you, and is likely to make sense to me (i.e., an audience-pleasing beginning, middle and end).

5. Write a dynamic title, and then write or revise a conclusion for your paragraph (see p. 32 of your Writing Skills Handbook).
   

6. Edit for standard written English. (You have until the end of the quarter to meet this requirment.)
