Language Exchange - Fall 2009THE LANGUAGE EXCHANGE PROGRAM Fall 2009
The Language Exchange Program is ready to accept applications for the fall '09 quarter.
The program will take place in the Listening and Speaking Center (ATC 304) from November 2 to November 12 . Applications are available at ATC 304 and online (go to <http://faculty.deanza.edu/ifftmaryanne/>;http://faculty.deanza.edu/ifftmaryanne/ and click on "Language Exchange"). How it works.
We will schedule several language exchange sessions from November 2 - 12. Each meeting lasts for one hour. On the meeting, a student will exchange his/her native language for the language he/she is learning. For example, if he/she is learning Mandarin and his/her first language is Japanese, he/she will meet with a Mandarin speaker who is learning Japanese and practice their languages together.
From our students feedback, we know that many students got language and cultural knowledge, made friends and found the program to be a lot of fun. Many students have continued to meet their partners after the end of the Spring'09 program.
Please encourage your students to take advantage of this wonderful opportunity to have one-on-one conversation with native speakers of the language they are learning.
