| Last Day of Spring Term - Announcements |

Graded Work - After the last day of classes your graded assignments will no longer be available to you - though most of the grades may be viewed online at your class web site.
Grade Posting - I'll post final course grades as soon as possible - no later than early next week. Check your course web site for updates.
Congratulations to those of you who will participate in graduation on Saturday and best wishes to you as you continue on to additional academic work and/or jobs.
Fall Term - I hope to see some of you (and perhaps friends and acquaintances?) in some of my fall 2008 classes. Registration begins during the summer and classes begin in late September. I am scheduled to teach:
- Two Introduction to Music (Music 1) sections (MTWTh at 9:30 and at 10:30).
- Two Introduction to Electronic Music (Music 51) sections (MW at 12:30 and F-only at 10:30)
- One Intermediate Electronic Music (Music 8) section (TTh at 12:30).
Summer Schedule - I will not be on campus on a regular basis during the summer months. The best way to contact me is via email.

Monday, June 23
Although this is the last regular day for spring quarter classes, I will not be on campus on Monday - as I have announced to my classes earlier this quarter.
Tuesday, June 24
I have no exams or other meetings scheduled on Tuesday, but I do plan to be on campus during the day. I am hopeful that I will be able to open A91 for electronic music open lab sometime during the day - check the electronic music web site for updates.
Wednesday, June 25
The Intermediate Electronic Music final exam session is at 11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. in A91. I will be on campus before and after this exam session. There may be an electronic music open lab in the morning before this exam session - check the electronic music web site for updates.
Thursday, June 26
The 9:30 MTWTh Intro to Music final exam session is at 9:15 - 11:15 a.m in A11. (You may arrive as late as 9:30 if you prefer.) I will be on campus after this exam as well.
Friday, June 27
I have two final exams on Friday. The 10:30 MTWTh Intro to Music final exam session is at 9:15 - 11:15 a.m. in A11. (You may arrive as late as 9:30 if you prefer.) The Intro to Electronic Music final exam session is at 11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. in A91.
Office Hours: Although I do not have scheduled office hours during finals week, I can meet with you if you contact me to arrange for a time that works for both of us.
Attendance is required at scheduled final exam sessions unless you have made prior alternate arrangements with me or in the rare case of a serious emergency. (Bad traffic on the highway or failing to wake up in time are not "serious emergencies.") If you do not come to your exam session and do not contact me in a timely fashion your grade will likely be affected and you could even fail the course. Bottom line: Contact me immediately if you have a schedule issue or a last-minute emergency.

I have other campus business to attend to during my normal office hour time on Wednesday, May 21. For this reason my office hour that day will be at 8:30-9:20 a.m. instead of the usual time.

| Faculty Recital on Thursday |

At 12:00 noon on Thursday, May 16 there will be a performance of a new composition by faculty member Paul Setziol in room A11. Admission is free and the event is open to all. The performance should last approximately one half hour.
Due to the recital I will not be available during my usual 11:30 office hour. Please contact me if you would like to arrange an alternate meeting time or communicate via email.
My 12:30 p.m. Intermediate Electronic Music class may start a few minutes late due to the recital. I invite all my students, including those in this class, to join me at the recital.

Open Lab Update - Thursday, June 26. The Electronic Music Lab will be open today (Thursday, June 26) for perhaps as long as about two hours starting around noon. Times are not precise since we are on the final exam schedule this week, but come at about that time if you want time for some last-minute work on your project. |

Open Lab Update - Wednesday, June 25. It appears that I will not be able to open the lab for substantial open sessions this morning since I have other commitments including an on-campus meeting and the completion of some grading for other classes.
I will try to open the room about a half hour or so before the 11:30 Music 8 final exam session, but students in the Music 51 class will not be able to work on final projects during the final.
There is some chance that I may be able to open the lab for about an hour after we finish the playback of Music 8 final projects. I estimate that this might be at about 1:00-2:00 or so.
I may be able to open the classroom for a short period during the middle of the day on Thursday, so stay tuned... |

Tuesday, June 24 Open Lab. I plan to be on campus on Tuesday morning to open the lab for two hours or possibly a bit longer starting at about 11:30 a.m. Although I have still not been able to verify with absolute certainty that there are no other classes scheduled to use the lab, I cannot think of a class that would be scheduled at that time - so we should be fine. In case we do encounter a conflict, I'll post an update at that time. |
