TEI CERTIFICATESThis project is on hold. However, the topics and sequence of courses are good guidelines if you are interested in learning more about enhancing your teaching with technology.
One training alternative designed to assist faculty in developing and delivering online courses or course content is Cerro Coso's Certificate of Achievement in Online Teaching. The program is taught online. For details: http://www.cvc4.org/servicesregion/certificate/description.asp#costs
Technology Enhanced Instruction certificates (CURRENTLY ON HOLD) were developed by the TEI committee comprised of representatives from District ETS' Learning Technologies, the DeAnza Language Arts and Business Divisions, DeAnza Distance Learning, and Staff and Organizational Development. Each certificate program includes courses in technical skills, design, pedagogy, and a culminating project demonstrating those skills. Use Certificate Checklists to decide which certificate would meet your teaching needs if the certificates become available.
The certificates would NOT be required of instructors, but may be used for PAA credit, to serve as a sequencing guide when learning to use instructional technology, or to demonstrate expertise and readiness to teach online courses.
