Part-time speech instructor in the Speech Communication Department (Language Arts Division) of De Anza College.

ACADEMIC BACKGROUND: Associate in Arts Degree, City College of San Francisco; Bachelor of Arts Degree in Speech Communication, San Francisco State University; Master of Arts Degree in Speech Communication, San Francisco State University; Juris Doctorate Degree, Lincoln University; and a lifetime Community College Instructor Credential in Language Arts and Literature.

CAREER BACKGROUND: Sales Education Specialist, Shaklee Corporation; Firefighter, San Francisco Fire Department; President, San Francisco Fire Fighters Local 798; Member of the Executive Committee of the San Francisco Labor Council; Project Manager/Special Projects, Fatbrain (Barnes & Noble); Manager, Educational Rights Consultant , Parents Helping Parents (PHP); and Communications Coordinator, Sacred Heart Schools. Previous teaching experience includes City College of San Francisco and San Francisco State University. Member of the National Communication Association and the Western States Communication Association.

     Course Description for Speech 1 (catalog): "Theory and techniques of public speaking in a democratic society. An introduction to a variety of perspectives and approaches used to research, organize, deliver, and evaluate public presentations."

Speech 10--Fundamentals of Oral Communication

     Course Description for Speech 10 (catalog): "An introduction to the basic principles and methods of oral communication with emphasis on improving speaking and listening skills in the multicultural contexts of interpersonal, small group, and public communication."
